What we aim for
Developing very valuable land assets
Our projects aim to make a real and measurable difference.
Wellers Impact has unique relationships with charities and faith groups in Kenya, which provide us with access to Kenyan real estate assets, predominantly in Nairobi.
Our key interests are to develop commercial, student accommodation and mixed use utilities.
Our project schedule illustrates the breadth and depth of Wellers Impact’s expertise and our determination to work on projects that make a real and measurable difference:
- We are transforming thousands of lives by partnering with not-for-profit organisations with the goal to develop prime real estate in Nairobi, Kenya.
- Wellers Impact works according to the highest standards of measurement – our major projects measure our impact using the Global Impact Investing Network’s IRIS metrics and UN Sustainable Development Goals and are fully assured in order to be reported with confidence.
Many charities and not-for-profit organisations had the foresight, years ago, to buy land in current strategic locations. Over the last fifty years, with the significant growth of cities, this land has become prime property.
A great deal of community social support is provided through well-meaning donations. The challenge is that the charities use these donated funds for their missions, being their primary mandate, but as a result they generally do not have the finances to develop their very valuable land assets. Our partnership with a charity enables them, as landowners, to realise and enhance their assets whilst remaining focused on their mission objectives. They do not become distracted by the detailed financing and development management requirements of a project on their land. The end result is that the charity can achieve sustainable commercial income, protected from inflation, which makes it less donor-dependent. This allows the charity to plan for the future and expand its operations and impact.
We do not merely develop on behalf of the charity, make our return and exit. Instead, we establish a partnership with them to facilitate the growth of their economic independence.
