More than returns
Investment with a greater vision
Investing with us is about more than just financial returns. Through our investments, we aim to allocate capital to developing countries as a means to facilitate growth and address inequalities.
Our investors are therefore looking beyond traditional investment models. These institutions and individuals are looking to play a part in offering long-term social and environmental solutions to communities in developing economies worldwide, while still protecting their assets through sound investments.
Our regulator, the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA), requires us to confirm that these investment opportunities are only made available to high net worth individuals, sophisticated or professional investors. These terms are explained in our registration form.
What our projects do
All our projects set out to help solve a social problem whilst providing investors with an opportunity to make short or long-term, market-rate, risk-adjusted returns. We do this by using our relationships as well as investment and legal expertise to design and operate the very best investment projects.
Through our partnerships with local charities, we seek to facilitate long-term change in the communities where they operate. We work closely with Deloitte to audit our financial returns and assure our impact.
Our Approach to Impact Investment
Impact investments fall on a spectrum regarding market-rate returns and the depth of their social impact. We invest in projects that aim to provide only long-term, sustainable solutions to communities.
As a team, we build on our relationships as well as investment, real estate and charity expertise.
Apprenticeship Scheme on a current Development
Our development of a commercial building on the land of CMS-Africa in Kilimani, Nairobi, ran an apprenticeship scheme during construction. This is one of the key social impact requirements we set on all our developments.
George Mande, one of our apprentices, joined the scheme as a management apprentice, working alongside our Clerk of Works. George was keen to start expanding his capabilities and positively challenge himself whilst waiting to graduate with a Bachelor’s Degree in Construction Management. He quickly made excellent progress on site and was a notable success of the scheme.
Since his placement, George was offered a contract of employment on our site as the Assistant Clerk of Works, with options of financed training opportunities. He would love to grow into a Project Manager, and through this opportunity he now has the chance of making this a reality.
